| Q10: We want to get two GSP
or DK puppies from the same litter and train them together. Is this a good idea? A: Not usually, I'm afraid. It can be done, of course, but should usually be attempted by someone with a great deal of experience in dog training and behavior--a breeder, professional, etc. GSP or DK litter mates raised together beyond the initial 8 weeks or so will often bond to one another, rather than to their owner, one may dominate another to a significant degree, and one will generally get the "short end of the stick" training and attention-wise from their new owner. (Not to mention, housebreaking is hard enough with one, much less two!) If you're set on acquiring two puppies, you're better off to acquire one, spend time bonding and training for several months or years, then acquiring the second one when the bulk of your attention can go to the new addition.
